Fantastic news, Hugh fans! Earlier today the official twitter for The Path announced that season two of the series would be coming in 2017. See that below:

Various news outlets continued with articles of the announcement, you can view those below.

Hulu Renews The Path and The Mindy Project
Fresh off reports that Hulu’s subscriber growth is decelerating—it increased from nine to 12 million over the past year, down from the 50 percent growth over the previous year—the streaming giant announced some good news that might help boost those numbers: it’s renewing both The Path and The Mindy Project.

We’re particularly excited about the former, as The Path has been one of our favorite shows of the year to date. The Aaron Paul-starring drama, which will now see a second season, deals with a cult called Meyerism and has thus far done an excellent job of handling issues such as religion and familial intimacy. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s not too late to jump into the first season and catch up before it ends on May 25.

The Mindy Project , meanwhile, seems to have settled in nicely on Hulu after moving over from Fox. The show will continue into a fifth season of exploring the life and times of its titular character, who now has a son named Leo.

As for series and films coming to Hulu this month, we’ve got you covered.

‘The Path’ Renewed for Season 2 at Hulu
Hulu has seen the light when it comes to The Path.

The drama series about a family wrapped up in a cult-like religious movement has been renewed for a second season. The Universal Television series created by Jessica Goldberg (“Parenthood”) wraps its 10-episode first season on May 25.

The series stars Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan as a married couple struggling to hold their family together after one of them begins to have grave doubts about the movement. Hugh Dancy plays the charismatic leader who is intent on solidifying his power as the group’s second-generation spiritual force.
The renewal was expected, given the show’s solid reception from critics and the buzz created by its provocative premise.

Goldberg is exec producer of the series with Jason Katims and Michelle Lee of True Jack Productions.

Hulu confirmed the renewal on the same day the streaming service plans to unveil its 2016-17 season programming plans at its upfront presentation in New York on Wednesday.

‘The Path’ Renewed for Second Season at Hulu
Hulu is staying course on The Path.

The streaming service has renewed the Aaron Paul, Michelle Monaghan and Hugh Dancy drama for a second season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Picked up straight to series, The Path — inspired by writer/showrunner Jessica Goldberg’s personal spiritual journey — hails from Universal Television and prolific producer Jason Katims (Parenthood).

Based on a script Katims and his studio-based True Jack head of development Michelle Lee created with Goldberg last year, The Path examines a family at the center of a controversial faith-based movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power. Each hourlong episode will take an in-depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want. (No, it’s not Scientology.)

The Path marks Hulu’s latest ongoing scripted drama series and extends the streamer’s relationship with Universal Television, which produces Fox import The Mindy Project and whose cable-focused arm handles Billy Eichner’s Difficult People. The Path is also the latest collaboration for Goldberg with Katims and Lee following her two-season run on NBC family drama Parenthood. The streamer also has dramas Shut Eye, Chance and newly ordered The Handmaid’s Tale.

For Katims, meanwhile, The Path — the Friday Night Lights alum’s first streaming project — comes as he has CBS drama pilot Bunker Hill in contention as well as Showtime anthology Mating.

Hulu wants to take fans further down The Path. The streaming service has picked up the drama for a second season.

The show, which stars Aaron Paul, Michelle Monaghan, and Hugh Dancy, follows a man (Paul) struggling with his faith in a religious movement called Meyerism. The Path also explores the effect of the group, which some would call a cult, on his family.

Created by Jessica Goldberg (Parenthood) and executive-produced by Friday Night Lights alum Jason Katims, The Path will conclude its inaugural, 10-episode season on May 25.

The streaming service made the announcement Wednesday morning at its Upfront presentation in New York. The pickup comes seven weeks into the series’ 10-episode rookie season (the Season 1 finale airs May 25).

The Path — which counts Parenthood and Friday Night Lights EP Jason Katims as an exec producer and stars Aaron Paul, Michelle Monaghan and Hugh Dancy — follows a family at the center of a controversial Scientology-esque cult as they struggle with relationships, faith and power.
